Gmail has the most powerful search engine of all known mail box providers, it’s a fact. I defined an Outlook rule to forward all my mail correspondence directly to Gmail only because that’s the way I can search effectively afterwards.
Searching your storage while knowing the various shortcuts - may save your time dramatically and give much better results.

- You are looking for a file attachment, which is PDF file type and came from the following email: test@test.comEnter this text into the search box: from:test@test.com filename:pdf
- You are looking for all mail traffic between two dates:before: yyyy/mm/dd after:yyyy/mm/dd
- Searching a label – label:familiy
- With an attachment – has:attachment
- Exclude some word – alex –rait
